Airports
Soldotna has a small private airstrip, but most travellers arrive via Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, some 150 miles to the north. With connections from all over the world, and more than 280 flights arriving daily, this is the major air gateway into Alaska. A smaller regional airport is also available in Homer, also on the Kenai Peninsula.

Ground Transportation
Bring your car, your recreational vehicle, or even your boat to Alaska on the Alaska Marine Highway. They offer regularly scheduled ferry service for 33 communities in Alaska, plus Bellingham, Washington, and Prince Rupert, British Columbia. In addition, several cruise lines run this route from May through September.
Basic Directions
The scenic Alaska Highway links Alaska with Canada and the contiguous United States. It is fully paved with year-round services. If driving to Alaska from the lower 48, however, be prepared for an epic excursion: Anchorage is 2,435 miles from Seattle, and Soldotna is another 150 miles south along US 1.
Relatively closer at hand, Seward is 95 miles to the east, and Homer is 75 miles to the south.
