At 12,173 feet Delano Peak is the tallest point in the Tushar Mountains. This good day hike starts from Hwy. 153 about 1 mile past Elk Meadows Ski and Summer Resort (near Puffer Lake). The trail climbs 2-1/2 miles to the Skyline Trail, joins it and heads west. After about about 1/2 mile, you'll leave the developed trail and hike follow the ridge line northeast 1-1/2 miles to 11,985 foot Mt. Holly. From Mt. Holly, you'll climb along a ridge north 2 miles to Mt. Delano. Along the route, which is mostly above the timberline, you'll have great views out over southern Utah and the Tushar Range.
