They offer regularly scheduled ferry service for 33 communities in Alaska, plus Bellingham, Washington, and Prince Rupert, British Columbia. In addition, several cruise lines run this route from May through September.

Basic Directions
The scenic Alaska Highway links Alaska with Canada and the contiguous United States. It is fully paved with year-round services. If driving to Anchorage from the lower 48, however, be prepared for an epic excursion: Anchorage is 2,435 miles from Seattle.
Relatively closer at hand, Fairbanks is 360 miles to the north, scenic all the way; Seward is 130 miles to the south, and Whitehorse, Canada is 700 miles to the east.
