With connections from all over the world, and more than 280 flights arriving daily, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, 115 miles south in Anchorage, serves as the air gateway to Alaska. This is by far the most convenient place to fly into from outside the state.

The scenic Alaska Highway links Alaska with Canada and the contiguous United States. It is fully paved with year-round services. If driving to Alaska from the lower 48, however, be prepared for an epic excursion: Anchorage is 2,435 miles from Seattle, with Talkeetna another 115 miles to the north. The east entrance to Denali National Park is 155 miles north of Talkeetna; Fairbanks is 275 miles north.
